Fish in Hawai‘i

Description

The waters around the Hawaiian islands are teeming with colorful fish swimming over, under, and around vibrant coral reefs. Here is just a tiny sampling of the many beautiful fish (both native and nonnative) that make Hawai‘i’s underwater world so amazing.

Included is the state fish—the humuhumunukunukuapua‘a— the Moorish Idol, Yellow Tang, Spotted Pufferfish and more along with a bit of information on each.

This simple introduction to the wide variety of fish found in Hawai‘i’s waters will give kids an early appreciation of Hawai‘i’s natural world which will hopefully grow as their curiosity grows.
